We thought we would give you all the low-down on all of the Louisville area haunted attractions and Halloween happenings so that you know everything that there is to offer. We also included the admission price of each event around town so that you can compare prices and get an idea of what to expect at each Halloween event in the Ville. So, browse through and pick out the events you want to hit around Louisville. Which ones are on the Danger Run? Only those that dare to take the Danger Run challenge will know!

Darkness Falls on Asylum

Darkness Falls on Asylum

Darkness Falls is a newer outdoor haunted attraction to the Louisville haunted house pallet. Unlike most haunted forests, Darkness Falls haunted attraction makes good use of air powered paint ball guns. Let me tell you, you would swear that you were really being attacked! There are scares around every bend and most of the scares come right out of the darkness. Hence the name! Darkness Falls is one of the most startling new haunts in Louisville and we look forward to see what it will produce in the coming years.

Wolf Creek Haunted Forest

Wolf Creek Haunted Forest

Wolf Creek Haunted Forest is an frightening new outdoor haunted attraction in the Louisville area. Wolf Creek Haunted Wolf Creek Haunted Forest is in Shepherdsville, KY behind the Denny's. The haunted forest sits on 76 acres of land and it even has a lake! The haunted trail at Wolf Creek is right under a 1 mile long! It includes horror scenes from many of your favorite horror movies such as Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Jeepers Creepers. They also have many original scenes such as a zombie orphanage, chaos clown house, and the hellish pumpkin patch. Be sure to check out this new event!

The Haunted Hotel

The only haunted attraction to be around as long as Danger Run, the Haunted Hotel is a haunted house in Louisville, KY. The Haunted Hotel starts out with an elevator that takes you on a nightmarish ride to the 13th floor. On your way, a ghoul comes out of the wall and scares you into the haunted house. The Haunted Hotel is known for its extreme scares, blood curdling effects, and detailed scenery. For the 2008 season, the Haunted Hotel even featured a suicide room where a guy fired a shot gun into his mouth and splattered his brains on the wall! Definitely one of the goriest haunts in the Ville. Can't wait to see what Haunted Hotel has in-store this season!

Waverly Hills Sanatorium

If you are from Louisville, then you are VERY familiar with Waverly Hills. Waverly Hills Sanatorium is an old TB Hospital that has seen thousands of deaths in its day. Waverly has been featured on World's Scariest Places and it is definitely one of the scariest places that I have ever laid my eyes on. The building alone is menacing and that is before you even step foot inside the haunted house. Little do you know that the creatures in the corridors of this haunted house aren't actors. These are the ghosts that haunt Waverly Hills.

The Baxter Avenue Morgue

The Baxter Avenue Morgue has quickly become a Louisville legend in the haunted house industry. The Baxter Morgue haunted house features a very descript storyline with a cast of characters that are some of the most creepy people that you will see in a haunted house. You are greeted at the Morgue in a funeral parlor by Warren Vanderdark. As he walks you through the opening corridor, he sends you off into the deepest recesses of Baxter Morgue where you will encounter ghosts and zombies who have been imprisoned by the Morgue haunted house.

Nightmare Forest

The legendary Nightmare Forest is a haunted attraction in Louisville that is known for miles. Nightmare Forest haunted event is known for bringing the movies to life and they have always lived up to that motto. It has featured such movies at Halloween, Jurassic Park, Alien, and much more. It is a haunt to be feared, but unfortunately it hasn't been around in a few years. This year Nightmare Forest appears to be featured at Nightmare at Otter Creek at Otter Creek Park. Field of Screams

The Field of Screams is an outdoor haunted attraction outside of Louisville that features a haunted corn field, a haunted barn, and a haunted trail in the woods. As rumor has it, the Field of Screams was cut by a fiendish farmer. Evidently he had more in store than just the field! After wandering through his field of horrors that you have to see to believe, you then encounter an enormous barn haunted house. The inside of the barn is packed full of great effects and scares. Just when you think Field of Screams is over, you are thrown into a forest of fright with ghouls behind every tree.

Nightmare at Otter Creek

Nightmare at Otter Creek is a forest of terror that is no ordinary haunted forest in Louisville. You step onto the property at Otter Creek Park and you are suddenly immersed in your worst nightmare. After watching one of your favorite horror movies in line to build up your fear, you are then sent through the door of a massive and daunting facade. After entering, you see sights that you have never seen before in a haunted attraction. Several very cool haunt effects. Although Otter Creek Park has been abandoned, Nightmare at Otter Creek will still be open for 2010. They will also feature 2 new haunted events: Nightmare Forest and Trail of Terror.

Blackacre Terror Trail

Blackacre Terror Trail was another haunted forest new to the Louisville area. Blackacre was a frightening forest was in Jeffersontown. Unfortunately, this Louisville haunted forest will not be opening for the 2010 season. We hope that the creators soon find a new location to open up their haunt.

Psychomania Theater of Terror

Psychomania Theater of Terror is a new haunted house to the Louisville area, Psychomania is located in Clarksville, Indiana. It is only a hop, skip, and a jump from Louisville. The story goes, the Theater of Terror was constructed on top of an old cemetery. Years after in operation, the horror movies being played in the Theater of Terror awoke the spirits from their graves. Now, the Theater of Terror is alive in ghostly energy and it is ready to show you what a REAL haunted house is.

Industrial Nightmare Complex

Industrial Nightmare has been deemed the Mother of all haunted houses, and rightfully so! Industrial Nightmare is a massive haunted house in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It is actually multiple haunted houses all in one location. The Industrial Nightmare haunted attraction consists of 4 separate haunted houses: Industrial Nightmare, Dementions, Pitch Black, and the Cage Maze. All of these haunts are big haunts alone, but combined they are a monster of a haunted attraction. It has state of the art special effects, sound, and costumes. The Industrial Nightmare complex has earned its rank as the Mother of all haunted houses! New this year, they have given the museum a makeover and added a ton of new scenes and surprises!

Culbertson Mansion

The Culbertson Mansion is a Southern Indiana legend. The Culbertson Mansion is a haunted house in New Albany that is held in the carriage house of the old Culbertson Mansion. Culbertson put together an incredible haunt with creatures that you have only seen in your nightmares. It is rumored that the Culbertson Mansion is actually haunted and the ghosts of the mansion have over ran the carriage house. It wouldn't be surprising because there are shocks around every turn in this haunted house! The Culbertson Mansion is an Indiana classic!

The Haunted Chop Shop

The Haunted Chop Shop was new to the Louisville area in 2008. Chop Shop is a haunted house is located in Jeffersonville, IN. It is said the Joey Carmen owned a Chop Shop and suddenly went mad and started killing people and cutting them up at the Chop Shop at night. Now, Joeys Chop Shop is back in business and at night, they do bodies! Despite the interesting story, it appears as though The Haunted Chop Shop will not be back for the 2009 season. We hope that we get a chance to welcome them back in the future.

The Trail of Tears

Trail of Tears is a new haunted forest to Louisville for the 2009 season. However, it appears that due to a death in the family Trail of Tears will not be open for 2009. They look to be open in 2010. We look forward to seeing what they come up with.

Nightmare At The Fair

Yet another newer event to the area, Nightmare At The Fair looks like it could have some great potentional. Although Nightmare at the Fair is only open for 4 days, I am certain they have quite a terrifying show in store for its customers. Hope to make it out to Nightmare at the Fair!

Hysteria Haunted House

Also new for the 2009 Season, the Hysteria Haunted House was near the Jefferson Mall. However, it appears that the Hysteria Haunted House will not be making a return for the 2010 season. It is too bad, they had a lot of potential and had a great location.

13 Fears

Yet another newbie for 2009 is the 13 Fears Haunted House. 13 Fears haunted house is in a nice location and they have some incredible actors. The actors at this haunt are always in your face around every corner. A great haunt to visit for the money and you're sure to get a scare!

Terror at the Fun Farm

New for the 2009 Season is Terror at the Fun Farm. Terror at the Fun Farm is a 3-D haunted house located at the Fun Farm in Lanesville Indiana. It even comes with a haunted corn field maze for free! Being new, we don't know entirely too much about the event, but you can be sure we will give you all the info as it comes available.

Cobb's Haunt - Haunted Corn Maze

Cobb's Haunted Corn maze has been around for the last couple of years. It is an 11 acre haunted corn maze fille with spooks and goblins throughout. This is a somewhat new haunted corn maze and we have yet to experience Cobb's Haunt. As soon as we know more we will get the info to you!

Deere Farms Haunted Maze

Deere Farms Haunted Maze, Woods and Farm will start by taking you on an adventure across the farm in the dark and dropping you off at the Entrance to the Haunted Maze. More than 25 creatures and psycho mad men will be waiting for you as you venture through the maze. When you exit the maze, you will find your way past the cemetery and into the woods. Look out for moving trees and bridge crossings. Once you exit the woods, you will find your way back into the second half of the corn maze for a second dose. The shuttle will take you back to the Admissions area where you will be directed to the second half of our 2010 Adventure through the Barn lot and into several abandoned buildings and barns. It is a very unique event that you should check out.

Governor's Square Massacre

While it is a little outside the city, the Governor's Square Massacre is a new haunt in Shelbyville, KY. The haunt is put together by the Shelbyville Fire Department and it is a great haunt for the drive. If you are out that way, check out this new haunt.

The Devil's Attic

The Devil's Attic haunted house is a new haunted house to Louisville. The story goes that the Devil's Attic is where the Devil has locked away evil souls for centuries. It is here they have been waiting and during the Halloween season the Attic door will be unlocked. This event looks very exciting and we can't wait to check it out!

Frightmare

The Frightmare haunted house is a new haunted house and haunted hayride to Louisville. So far, we know very little about this haunted house other than its name. We will keep you abreast of new information as we get it on the Frightmare haunted house.

Kentucky Kingodom Fright Fest

How could we forget Kentucky Kingdom's Fright Fest? Six Flags turns their entire park into a haunted event for the month of October. Fright Fest has everything from monsters roaming the streets to multiple haunted events that you can walk through to get the heck scared out of you! Thus far, Kentucky Kingdom looks as if it will be closed for the 2010 season. If things change, we will be the first to update you.

I am certain that there are more haunts to come and I will update you with all the latest haunted houses, haunted trails, and corn fields as soon as I know about them. In the meantime, I am going to leave you wondering..which of these haunted houses are included with Danger Run? All of them are great haunts and I can tell you that two of them are on the Danger Run.

Louisville Halloween Parties To Check Out

Louisville has a variety of huge Halloween parties at the local bars and night clubs that if you are 21 you should not miss. Of course, most of these parties are costume parties accompanied by other fun quirks that you can only find in Louisville. After going on the Danger Run, make sure you check out one of these local venues for the best in Louisville Halloween nitelife.

The World's Largest Halloween Party at the Louisville Zoo

Where their moto is "Be Seen. Not Scared," the Louisville Zoo offers an event for the little ones. The Louisville Zoo knows that being scary is no fun for kids, so they have made the sweetest party in town. It is an evening of not-too-scary Halloween fun for the whole family with costumed characters and fanciful storybook scenes all over the Zoo. Plus there’s trick-or-treating for kids 11 and under. This is a great family-oriented Halloween Event in Louisville.

Little Goblin's Galore at Otter Creek Park

This was yet another not so scary event for the kiddies. Little Goblins Galore was a family-oriented Halloween event hosted by Nightmare at Otter Creek. Goblins Galore was a not so scary Halloween event mainly designed for the kids. The event did include activities such as face painting, pumpkin painting, trick-or-treating, and even a haunted house designed especially for kids! However, it appears that this event will not be back for the 2010 season.

Hallowfest at Fourth Street Live

This is Halloween event for those that are 21 or older. It is a HUGE Halloween party down at Louisville's #1 Party Place...4th Street Live. You can party in your hottest and scariest Halloween costume at all of your favorite bars including: Angel's Rock Bar, Louisville Sports and Social Club, Tengo Sed Cantina, Hotel, Sully's, Red Star, and more! All of the details regarding this Halloween Party at Fourth St haven't been released yet, but as soon as they are we will be sure to let you know!

The 34th Annual Halloween Costume Ball at Pheonix Hill Tavern

Dress in your best costume and check out this Louisville tradition on Halloween. The Pheonix Hill Tavern has been producing one of the best Halloween Parties in Louisville for the last 33 years and this year is sure to be one of the best year's yet! They even have prizes on best costumes!

Louisville Halloween Shows and Attractions

Louisville has grown to have a nice collection of Halloween shows and attractions that are a bit outside the scope of parties and haunted houses. Listed below are the things we know of, we will be sure to update with any others we find.

Caufield's Halloween Parade

The only parade in Louisville that is dedicated to Halloween. Check out all of the ghouls, goblins, and creatures of the night at the Halloween Parade in Louisville, KY. The Parade is October 9th on Baxter Avenue. It is a great event to take the entire family or even your friends to see to get yourselves in the Halloween spirit. Best of all...it is FREE! You can't beat free Halloween entertainment...especially a haunted parade right here in Louisville!

Dracula at Actor's Theatre

A FANTASIC Halloween-time show in Louisville, KY that has been around for quite some time is Dracula at Actor's Theatre. The show has incredibly detailed sets and the show itself is very well put together. It is complete with blood splattering, explosions, and other amazing special effects that occur right before your eyes. Dracula generally sells out quicky, so make sure to get your tickets early!

Mystery of Irma Vep

From the makers of Dracula at Actor's Theatre, they are now presenting another Halloween season show that is a bit more on the lighter side. This is a dark comdey featuring werewolves, zombies, and vampires. If it is anything like we have come to expect from Actor's Theatre then it will be a riot. Check this out!

Evil Dead The Musical

In 2009 Louisville featured Evil Dead The Musical. It was an incredible show presented by the Alley Theatre. The cult classic, Evil Dead was presented in musical form and EVEN had a splatter zone. Trust me, you got DRENCHED in blood! Very sad to see this Halloween season show go. It was a lot of fun!
